About
Alban Rouge graduated a DMA (Diplome des Arts) in Light Managing in 1999 and quickly got involved in the light design of many shows. Working first for dance, theatre and circus companies, the flemish choreographer Wim Vandekeybus invited him to join him in 2007 and then they started a long collaboration together. He designed the light so for the shows Menske (2007) Black Biist and Nieuwzwart (2009).
Music composer as well, he has worked with many choreographers and directors among whom Michel Fau (Demain il fera Jour and Le Récital Emphatique), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, German Allue Jauregui, Helder seabra, François Orsoni, Mohamed Guellati, Marjorie Heinrich, Carla Python, Vincent Filliozat (co-founder of the Cirque Plume), and many others.
His work has been seen on most famous international venues such as the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, National theatre in Taiwan, Gotenburg Opera, UCLA live in Los Angeles, KVS in Brussels, Maison de la Danse in Lyon, Teatro Central in Madrid, JulliDans in Amsterdam, Impulstanz in Vienna, Kalamata international Dance Festival, Munich dance Festival, Teatro Central in Sevilla.
